in Life Lessons, Oh Hey, Random Ponderings, Stories

Forewarning. This is a little bit of a random post. If you’re here in the city with me, then you know how miserable the weather is. The sky is a light grey, it’s misting and everything is ugly. I must say that Atlanta is not a very pretty city when it rains.

In honor of the rain and he miserable weather, I skipped the gym and instead watched Julie and Julia for the first time. I had no idea what the movie was about when I started watching it. Other than a movie about Julia Child, I wasn’t really aware of the premise behind the film. I found myself oddly moved by the entire story. There are so many levels to the movie and it goes so far beyond telling the story of two women. It’s about overcoming the odds, always pursuing your dream and discovering who you are. Even bigger it’s about a woman who is blogging.

Needless to say, I loved the movie. It got me thinking about a lot of things, namely pursuing your dreams. I have always felt as though I’ve done a good job at doing anything I set my mind to. I am so proud of everything I have accomplished to this point and I think my life is in a good place right now. I have a lot of long-term goals and I think I’ve laid the path to get to where I need to be. What this movie had me thinking about was short-term goals. It made me realize how important having short terms goals are. Something that I can achieve over the next couple months, not over the next couple years. So that is  my new goal. I am going to come up with short-term goals and I am going to achieve them.

So game plan is to pause and come up with and then achieve. I’ll keep you filled in.
