things to do in atlanta june 11-13

I’ve decided Thursdays are going to be dedicated to things to do in Atlanta over the weekend. So here is my list for this weekend. If you have anything to add I would LOVE to have them in a comment. The more things to do in Atlanta, the better!

Beer Connoisseur Festival. This event will be taking place at The Prado from 3 – 8 p.m. this weekend. Tickets are 35 dollars in advance, 40 dollars at the door and include a sampling cup, wristband, and of course all the beer, live music and fun you can handle . Don’t want to pay the full price? Be a volunteer. Volunteers work one shift (half of a day) and receive free admission to the festival either before or after their shift. They also get a t shirt and everything else the 35 dollar ticket buys you. It’s not a bad deal in the slightest.

I was walking past the Atlanta Botanical Gardens the other day when I saw a sign for Cocktails in the Garden. I was immediately intrigued and plan on going soon. Having never been, I can’t tell you more than the website so if you do go please let me know what you think!

American Apparel is hosting their first ever Flea Market in Atlanta this weekend at Atlantic Station. All of their merchandise will be discounted and you’ll be able to save up to 85% off this great brand. The event will be held Friday night and all through Saturday, but make sure to purchase your tickets and go out early as I am sure all of the clothing will be super picked through by mid-Saturday.

Stroll along the Midtown Mile. I live in Midtown and haven’t really heard a lot about this event and the only information I could find was on their Facebook page, but what it looks like to me is this: (please correct if you know more). The Summer Stroll along the Midtown Mile is a way to introduce Atlanta to the new Midtown Mile (right around 1010 Midtown – near Ri Ra’s and Ra Sushi). It appears that the restaurants and shopping areas will be providing great discounts, so it’s a good family friendly event. There will be free parking (huge) at 1010 Peachtree St., 999 Peachtree St., 930 Peachtree St., 855 Peachtree St (Spire condominium) and 860 Peachtree St. (Viewpoint condominium). So come on out and see why we all love Mudtown so much!
