Everyone deals with situations differently. Some respond to stress and bad news with an outpouring of emotion, some research and do. These people are the fixers. They are the people who see the problem and work to find the solution. Others, well they just shut down. I am the second person. The person who tries to solve all of the problems. I’ve always prided myself on not being the first. Not being the person who immediately bursts into tears at the drop of a hat (not that anything’s wrong with it), but I am such a fixer that I hear a problem and I hit up Google to find the best solution. I research the facts. The pros, the cons, the stats.
Sometimes I wonder if my approach to life comes off cold. If it comes out emotionless. But I think for the first part my life is a series of compartments. I take in information, put it in its proper box and then work on learning as much as I can. Then once I have had time to learn and deal and process, then I do emotion.
It’s interesting to see how people respond to the stressors of their lives. It’s interesting to see who is a cryer, who is a shutter downer and who is a fixer. People are often unpredictable and it’s fascinating to me to see how they respond.
There’s a point to this blog. I’m just not ready to share it yet.
