About a month ago this @silentclark guy caught my eye on Twitter. It seemed as though everyone was @ replying him, adding him to their #ff lists and generally talking about him more than normal. It really wasn’t until this past Friday that I had a moment to really check into what he was up to and all I can say is that I am sad I didn’t look into him sooner.

3 things you need to know about Silent Clark:

1. He’s has only been communicating via social media for the past 90 something days (day 100 will be this Saturday)

2. He is doing this to silence cancer in honor of his family members who have fought the battle

3. His first spoken words will be this Saturday at the Break the Silence party

As you all know the subject of cancer, particularly leukemia has been a subject near and dear to my heart recently. My dad and I have spent a lot of time talking about different people who are doing great things to fund cancer research, but as an avid blogger and lover of social media – this one really touched me. My whole family reads my blog and when my dad moved to Arizona, it helped him keep track of what I was up to when the three hour time difference would keep us from talking for a bit.

If you’re going to be in Atlanta on Saturday, come to the party. I’m sure it’s going to be a blast (I mean after all, I am going to be there). And if, like my dad, you can’t be there in person for whatever reason, please consider donating the $25 dollars you would have spent on the ticket to cancer research.

Thanks Silent Clark for all that you are doing. I can’t wait to meet you in person and hear your “first words” on Saturday.
