myagenda: one step forward in daily organization

in Stories, Things I covet

One day I’m sure Google will come out with an amazing way for me to keep track of my daily tasks and all of the things I have going on in my life. But right now I’m still a little old school. There’s something to be said for handwriting a to-do list and then picking up the pen and crossing them things off as you complete them. It really brings me a sense of peace and satisfaction. On that note, it’s important to me that I always have paper and pen with me to write things down. I am actively forgetting things – unless that is – I write them down. Once handwritten on a piece of paper, things are seldom forgotten. Well that is, until I loose that paper (totally kidding).

I’ve been hearing a lot of hype about this momAgenda that’s been hitting the market. Everyone says it’s the best agenda out there and I’ve been dying to have one. However there was one major stopping me from rushing to the website and picking up a copy. The name. Hideous. What (childless) 23 year oldĀ  wants to carry around an agenda that says MOM right on the front? Talk about a kiss of death.

Today I caved. I visited the website, I took stock of the products and I ordered. GASP. No. I did not order a heinously named momagenda (sorry all you moms out there). I ordered myagenda. The young girly version of the momagenda. So it’s paid for, it’s in the mail and I will let you know if it’s transformed my life and worth the 50 price tag (shipping included). Sigh. Why are good planners always so costly?

Well Google does have “Google Task” which is integrated into Gmail and Google Calendar, it also has its own mobile web app if you visit gmail.com/tasks with you phones browser. I personally use this really cool to-do list called remberthemilk.com which has apps for iOS and Android, but often times I do end up just jotting things down on a plain old notepad or even a sheet of paper.
