The Ladies I Love

These lovely ladies came into my life and stuck and now they are stuck. These are the besties and the people I can go to with anything.

LMo - We’ve been best friends forever. The wedding countdown has begun and as a bridesmaid I am going to walk down the aisle at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens next June rocking that J Crew bridesmaid dress (thanks girl). The best part about our friendship is that it’s so effortless. It’s a friendship that will last lifetimes and I cannot be more happy that we stumbled across each other when we were 15 years old and begging our parents for rides.

Kay - Is my college best friend. She currently lives in NC and is going to grad school to become even better at math than she already is… I know right? Kay knows me the best out of all my good friends. She knows the ins the outs, she calls me on my BS and she is one of the best people I know. You know how they say there’s love at first sight? That’s how it was for this lady and I: friendship at first sight. She wandered into my dorm room one night freshman year and our friendship took off.

KP - My partner in crime. KP is your typical sweet southern girl with a heart of gold. She’ll do anything for her friends and is truly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She’s always there if you need a good talk, a little laugh or a night out on the town. I always call her by her first and last name, and recently shortened it to just “KP” (who knows?). You can bet that if I am out in the city of Atlanta, this chick is right by my side.

Luck - Luck and I are the friends who were “never meant to be” you know, those girls who everyone talks about behind their back when they decide to live together, because they all know it’s going to be an epic fail. Random roommates our junior year, Luck and I have been BFF ever since. She even convinced me to watch the ENTIRE Buffy series. Not cool. There isn’t a teen book we haven’t read and one day I’m sure you’ll be reading a trashy teen romance novel penned by our hands.

The Fam

Through the good and the bad we always there for each other. Family is the most important thing and I am so glad that I was blessed with these kids as mine.

Mom – a.k.a Laura Ann. Miss Laura is all about family. She’s the person who will text you “1 will love you 2 much 4ever” and telling you it’s your “kidnap” code. She’s also the lady who you can count on to bring you chicken soup or drive five hours to take care of you when you’re sick. A teacher born and bred, Laura Ann teaches babies to “paint pictures with their words.”

Dad - Lives in Arizona. He is one of the smartest business people I know. I always know when I have a question about work, jobs, the job hunt, typical business practices, I can always turn to him. He’s my daddy and I’m his little girl and that’s the way it will always be. He loves golf, fishing, sports in general and the West Coast. I guess there are just times in life when you get somewhere and realize that you were meant to be there, that’s what happened when dad moved to Arizona. He loved the brownness, the cactus, and all the … brown. Me? I’m more of a green girl, but it’s all good.

Bear – My baby sister. We are opposite as night and day and that is why we are perfect as friends. Christina is an outdoor, natural girl. Not high maintenance in the slightest. She’s great, way more artsy-fartsy than I am. Christina takes amazing pictures and has a really unique way of looking at life, both of which she blogs about on Birds on Wires. While I am more what you see is what you get, Christina is about exploring the hidden mysteries of life and getting know the deeper meaning of things.

Dave - A fine southern man in the making, Dave is currently in college studying to be a mechanical engineer and is such a nice boy. He is going to be a mechanical engineer one day and loves his friends, fraternity, making bread and cooking as well as just having fun and living the life. He’s always down to try new things, whether it be rock climbing or a NASCAR race and he is really turning out to be a great kid. He and I have a lot of very similar personality traits, which is why we get along so well.

PJ Funny Bunny – Is the family musician. Hand the kid a musical instrument and he’ll have it mastered in a matter of hours. He’s all over YouTube (iridemsa) and a is a genius with a guitar. The is the baby in the family and we never let him forget it. The poor kid has endured more hours of makeup, being called Patricia and being made to play house with Christina and I than one boy should ever have to in a lifetime. He’s a great kid and has a heart of gold. Like Christina, he has a more emotional approach to life, which makes him a great friend and listener.
